<p>Granular lithium hydride is cast together with small quantities of suitable monomers as binders, and the required plasticisers, and if necessary with a hydrophobing agent, then hardened and worked to the final shape. Pref., LiH has a grain size 5-1000 microns, esp. 50-300 microns; 2-40% (5-30%) vinyl monomers, esp. esters of low mol.wt. alcohols and methyacrylic acid, are used, hydrophobing agent is 0.1-0.5% aerosil, with particle size 0.1-10 microns, esp. 0.05-1 micron.</p> |
