PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery assuring high safety even in the case the battery has a larger capacity. SOLUTION: An electrode of a wound structure is formed by winding a positive electrode 1 whose electricity collecting body 1a is at least partially lined on both surfaces with coating films 1b containing active material, a negative electrode 2 whose electricity collecting body 2a is at least partially lined on both surfaces with coating films 2b containing negative electrode active material and a separator 3 and is accommodated in a battery can 5 so that a nonaqueous secondary battery is accomplished, wherein no coating film 1b is formed on both surfaces of the positive electrode electricity collecting body 1a at least at the periphery of the positive electrode 1, and this portion of positive electrode electricity collecting body 1a free of coating film 1b is positioned confronting the negative electrode 2 with a separator 3 interposed. It is preferable that this portion free of coating film 1b is provided over one turn on the electrode body. |
