PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate inconvenience in which the vehicle is difficult to be moved for repair by making the engine startable through communication of code signals within a key-less entry system when correctness of a start code cannot be judged. SOLUTION: This system makes the engine startable if a key is judged to be a correct key through communication of electrical code signals (start code) between an electronic key 1 and a key cylinder 2, thus activating and unlocking the steering lock unit. On the vehicle, a key-less entry system is provided, which locks and unlocks the doors, and if the verification of the start code fails for a plurality of times, the driver is expected to operate a locking push button 19 or an unlocking push button 20 following a predetermined procedure while an indicator lamp 16 is flashing. If the entry code signal is verified and the signal matches, the steering lock unit is unlocked, allowing the key ready to be turned. Accordingly, the engine can be started by turning of the electronic key 1. |
