<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling mill and a rolling method by which the sufficient control ability of a sheet crown and a shape are secured from narrow materials to wide materials by improving the control ability of the sheet crown and the shape in the narrow materials. SOLUTION: In a rolling mill in which rolling is executed by respectively supporting a pair of upper and lower work rolls 1a, 1b with a pair of upper and lower intermediate rolls 3a, 3b and respectively supporting these intermediate rolls 3a, 3b with a pair of upper and lower back-up rolls 2a, 2b, the rolls whose the effective barrel length is shorter than the effective barrel lengths of the work rolls 1a, 1b and intermediate rolls 3a, 3b and longer than the min. width of materials to be rolled are used and the intermediate rolls 3a, 3b whose the axial lines cross each other and cross the work rolls and back-up rolls 2a, 2b on an approximately horizontal plane and also the max. cross angleθmax is increased or decreased in accordance with the width of a metal plate.</p> |
