PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the communication terminal where the user itself can optionally select a ring tone at calling and a pattern of light emission by a light emitting means such as a light emitting diode provided in addition to a speaker is lighted corresponding to an output of a pattern of the ring pattern at calling selected optionally by the user. SOLUTION: When a power switch 25 changes from OFF to ON, a ring tone pattern presenting section 29b of a controller 29 extracts sequentially plural ring tone patterns A-C stored in an EEPROM 28 in the order of ring tones A, B, C and outputs them to an indicator section 30. Thus, a speaker 31 sequentially sounds a ring tone among selectable ring tones A, B, C and the speaker 31 sounds the ring tones A-C for 3 sec each so long as a push switch 27 is not operated. In this case, a light emitting diode 32 is lighted at the same time. The user can select and set a call tone in the ring tone C at an external call after that by pressing the push switch 27 when the ring tone C desired in use for calling is sounded from the speaker 31.
