摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric material and a thermoelectric transfer element of very high performance index. SOLUTION: At least one kind of element selected among Bi and Sb, at least one kind of element selected among Te and Se, and at least one kind of element selected among I, Cl, Gh, Br, Ag, and Cu, are comprised. With a crystal system having a major axis y in pressurized direction at solidification/ molding, an aspect ratio D/d which is a ratio between an average crystal particle size D of the major axis y of crystal grain and an average crystal particle size d of the minor axis x is at least 3 while the average crystal particle size D for the miner axis being 10μm or less and the average crystal particle size D of the major axis being 30μm or less. The crystal grain is a re-crystallized grain, which is obtained by solidification/molding a thin piece manufactured by a liquid quenching method after it is thermally treated in an inert gas or hydrogen gas after crushing or without crushing. Related to the thermoelectric transfer element, the thermoelectric material is fitted with an electrode so that a current flows parallel to the major axis.
