<p>Tube extruder has a circular mandrel (25) surrounded by ring elements to define an extrusion passage (14). The end (32) of the mandrel is flared outwardly and surrounded by a ring member (30) with a matching flare, the ring member (30) being movable longitudinally of the extruder axis to vary the size of the extrusion orifice (27) between the ring and the mandrel. The ring (30) is coupled to a hydraulic actuator by a number of tie bolts (35) to provide the longitudinal movement of the ring. Simple sturdy tube extruder which is easily adjusted to vary the tube wall thickness but, once adjusted, maintains the thickness with high accuracy.</p> |
