PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily make a polishing roll or the like by making wire rods arranged like a sheet substantially parallel to each other adhere and fix to each other by an adhesive. SOLUTION: A sheet-like polishing material is formed by arranging wire rods like a sheet substantially parallel to each other and then making the same adhere and fix to each otherby an adhesive. Thus, the wire rods are joined to each other by the adhesive, so that handling efficiency can be improved, and the material is hard to be broken so as to improve durability in use, and further the polishing force is increased so as to improve polishing efficiency. The thickness (D) of the sheet-like polishing material is 0.5-10 mm, the length (H) is 5-500 mm, and the ratio (H/D) of the thickness D to the width H of the sheet-like polishing material in the vertical direction to the longitudinal direction of the wire rod is 2-200. As an adhesive for making the wire rods adhere and fix to each other, a rubber elastic resin adhesive is favorable in view of polishing performance and the durability in use of the polishing material.
