PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently protect data from undesired recording or erasing by storing the recording protecting information for protecting the data recorded on a recording medium from the undesired recording or erasing. SOLUTION: The data structures of a disk certification flag which are the data structures of the disk certification flag and group certification flag of the disk definition structure region of a defect management region storing the recording prevention information are stored with 'disk write protection' information in b4, b3 bits of the reserved disk certification flag and are stored with 'group write protection' information in the b4, b3 bits of the reserved disk certification flag. The recording prevention information of the disk is recorded in the disk definition structure of the defect management region and the same recording prevention information is recorded in superposition four times on the disk like these data structures, by which the toughness to the disk recording prevention information may be improved.
