PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a formed article which has a layer having ultraviolet- absorbing ability, providing good effects on substrate protection, yellowing prevention, or the like and excellent in long-term weatherability, gloss, and solvent resistance by forming the layer from a copolymer formed by copolymerizing an ultraviolet-absorbing monomer, an unsatd. monomer, and an ultraviolet-stable monomer. SOLUTION: The layer is formed from a copolymer formed by copolymerizing an ultraviolet-absorbing monomer of formula I, an unsatd. monomer of formula II, and an ultraviolet-stable monomer of formula III and/or IV. In the formulas, R1 is H or a 1-8C hydrocarbon group; R2 is a 1-6C alkylene; R3 is H or methyl; X is H, a halogen, a 1-8C hydrocarbon group, a 1-4C alkoxy, cyano, or nitro; R10 is H or a 1-2C hydrocarbon group; Z is a (substd.) cycloalkyl; R6 is H or cyano; R7 and R8 are each H or a 1-2C hydrocarbon group; R9 is H or a 1-18C hydrocarbon group; and Y is oxygen or imino. After the layer is formed on the cavity surface of a mold by copolymerizing the monomers thereon, a substrate material is molded in the mold, thus giving an objective formed article having the layer transferred to the surface thereof.
