DECHLORINATION AGENT WITH COATED LAYER AND ITS PREPARATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dechlorination agent which is a powder composed of an alkaline substance capable of forming harmless chlorides by the reaction with harmful chlorine type gases and covered with a coated layer in its surface and, particularly a dechlorination agent having a coated layer with an enhanced effect of reaction by rendering the powder composed of an alkaline substance porous, and to provide a method for preparing the same. SOLUTION: A dechlorination agent composed of an alkaline substance which can form harmless chlorides by the reaction with harmful chlorine type gases in a heated atmosphere is installed on or in the neighborhood of members which generate the harmful chlorine type gases by a fire and is subjected to contact reaction with harmful chlorine type gases in case of occurrence of a fire accident to prevent the generation of dioxin and the like by forming substituting harmless gases. This dechlorination agent contains vaporization components to be separated and scattered by heating and is formed by covering a powder obtained by heating an alkaline substance capable of forming harmless salts by the reaction with harmful components to evaporate and scatter the vaporization components as CO2 and H2O and to form a hole (a) and a penetrating hole (b) with a capsule or the like and enabled to be installed in any place.
