POLYMORPHISM RELEVANT TO HYPERTENSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new nucleic acid for diagnosis or the like of hypertension, which has a specific base number, consists of nucleic acid containing a successive nucleotide having a specific sequence or a polymorphic region arising from its complementary sequence and is used in the analysis of the polymorphic region relevant to hypertension. SOLUTION: This nucleic acid is a new nucleic acid which contains 10-100 bases and consists of at least 10 successive nucleotides having the sequence represented by the formula or a polymorphic region arising from its complementary sequence. The nucleic acid is useful for analyzing the polymorphic form occupying the polymorphic region in a gene which is known or doubted to play a role on hypertension and used as a probe or a primer for diagnosis of the sensitivity to hypertension. This nucleic acid is obtained by selecting at least 10 successive nucleotides containing the polymorphic region on the gene that codes for human angiotensin I receptor or the like known to play a role on hypertension.
