In the recovery of alpha-octene from mixed hydrocarbons, materials boiling at higher and lower temperatures than 1-octene are distilled off. Lower boilers are removed under vacuum; higher boilers under pressures above ambient. An Independent claim is included for suitable distillation plant for this process, which includes a vacuum- and a pressurized distillation column. |
