PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a predetermined gap setting by determining criterion on a displacement stroke of a brake lining, and controlling a wheel brake based on the tendency of change in a force signal and a torque signal relative to the stroke. SOLUTION: Each wheel is provided with angle sensors 62, 64 to measure a criterion on the displacement stroke of brake linings 30, 32. A control unit 16 calculates the tendency of change in the brake force and the brake torque relative to the stroke. If the resultant change tendency is 0, offset values of the angle sensors 62, 64 are determined in accordance with each case of using sensors 44, 50 as the torque sensor and using sensors 44, 50 as the force sensor, respectively. The point of time when the brake linings 30, 32 move away from discs 38, 40 can be easily and accurately identified in spite of drift in the angle sensors 62, 64. |
