PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To register a font even if printing of designated resolving power is impossible to perform printing by using the font. SOLUTION: A printer receives a resolving power designating command from a host and, if the operation thereof in this resolving power is impossible, operable resolving power is preset. Next, if resolving power is altered from designated resolving power (S6010) when the printer receives a font registering command, font data to be registered is converted to the data fitted to the set resolving power (S6011) and, thereafter, a font is registered (S6003). |
