摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensator sheet having an optically anisotropic layer and easy in temperature control when forming the layer by making the sheet include a specific discotic compound. SOLUTION: This discotic compound is shown by the formula [X]m-D-[-(L1)k- Naph-(L2)p-Z]n [X]m and [-(L1)k-Naph-(L2)p-Z]n are each a substituent bound to D; Z is e.g. a halogen or 1-12C alkyl; L1 and L2 are each a bivalent group of combination; Naph is a (substituted) naphthalene cycle; Z is reactive group; (k) and (p) are each 0 or 1; (m) is 0 to 100; and (n) is 1 to 100}, and the other objective sheet with optical anisotropy is obtained by including, pref., a compound of the formula. There is pref. applied at least one optically anisotropic layer containing a discotic liquid crystal compound onto the supporting member of the sheet, and the optically anisotropic layer is formed by pref. applying a discotic compound-containing coating liquid onto the supporting member in such a manner that one interface of the coating liquid layer contacts with a gas phase.
