PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fed paper sheet from skewing by delaying the rotation of a pickup roller until the pickup roller is completely made closely adhere to the paper sheet. SOLUTION: When a driving source 151 is driven to feed a paper sheet 100 to a printing unit to rotate a first gear member 153, a shaft 155 is slid along a pivot elongated hole 111, and the shaft 155 is brought into contact with the other end 111b of the pivot elongated hole 111. Accordingly, a pickup roller 130 closely adheres to the paper sheet 100. Secondly, when a second gear member 157 meshing with the first gear member 153 is continuously rotated, a projection 163 is slid along a guide groove 165 to delay the rotation of the pickup roller 130 until it comes into contact with the other end E of the guide groove 165. During such delay time, the pickup roller 130 is made closely adhere to the paper sheet uniformly.
