PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus improved to clarify wavelength dependence characteristics of an optical component. SOLUTION: The optical component tester 10 decides wavelength dependence characteristics of an optical component 100. The tester is provided with a tunable laser source for applying a stimulus signal to the component 100, and one or more responding units for receiving a response of the component 100 regarding the signal as functional units. The tester also comprises a control unit 60 connected to the functional unit to control the function. The functional unit preferably has a microcontroller 150 connected to a signal processor 170. Thus, the processor is connected to the functional units and has a duty of processing all timing critical operations of the tester.
