PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound comprising a specific spiropiperidine derivative, showing an antagonistic action to a tachykinin receptor, little in toxicity, excellent in internal movement and useful as an agent for prophylaxis and/or treatment of asthma, bronchitis, nasitis, allergy, aconuresis, or the like. SOLUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I or II [R1 and R2 are each an aryl or the like; A is methylene or the like; B is a single bond, a 1-4C alkylene, or the like; D is O or S; E is a 1-4C alkylene or the like; R3 is a lower alkyl; (n) is 1-3] and is e.g. 1- 3-[(2R)-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-(3,4,5- trimethoxybenzoyl)morpholin-2-yl]ethyl}spiro[(2-hydroxy)indane-1,4'-pi peridine]. The compound of formula I or II is obtained by reacting a compound having a lower alkanesulfonyloxy group with a compound having a cycloalkene ring in a solvent in the presence of a base at a temp. of pref. 20-120 deg.C.
