摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery member that is excellent in electrolyte retention capability and restrains the flowing out of the electrolyte and to reduce the number of processes in manufacturing by using a porous body that has a three-dimensionally continuous meshlike skeleton made of a polymer and wherein a gelling agent is retained in the vicinity of the meshlike skeleton. SOLUTION: When a communicating diameter to combine cells together is small as composed with the diameter of the cells, a rate that a liquid once infiltrated into the cells from the outside is enclosed and retained as it is is remarkably increased because the communicating diameter used as its entrance and exit is small. In this case, a porous body having a three-dimensionally continuous meshlike skeleton made of a high molecular polymer, particularly preferably, a double porous body is used as a material for a battery member. In its manufacturing method, the porous body, in particular, the double porous body wherein a gelling agent is retained in the vicinity of the meshlike skeleton can be provided by firstly molding a mixture of the polymer, a low molecular material and the gelatinization agent to form the three-dimensionally continuous meshlike skeleton made of the polymer, and thereafter, removing the low molecular material.
