PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nickel-/zirconia-based composite powder inhibiting the coagulation of Ni under the operation conditions of a solid electrolytic fuel battery for a long period by mixing Ni and/or NiO with yttria-doped zirconia(YSZ) and dispersing at least one of Co, Al, Ti, and Mg in the Ni and/or NiO. SOLUTION: This composite powder comprises Ni and/or NiO and yttria- doped zirconia(YSZ), and further contains at least one of Co, Al, Ti, and Mg in an amount of <=50 mol.% based on the Ni and/or NiO. The composite powder is obtained by preparing a mixture and subsequently thermally treating the mixture at 800-1,600 deg.C in the atmosphere or a reducing atmosphere. The mixture is prepared by a coprecipitation method using water-soluble metal salts such as nitrates, sulfates, carbonates or chlorides as starting raw materials, by a solid mixing method comprising adding the addition metals to Ni by a coprecipitation method or mechanically adding the addition metals to the Ni, treating the mixture, mixing the obtained powder with YSZ powder, and then thermally treating the synthesized mixture, or by a solid-liquid mixing method comprising adding water-soluble Zr and Y such as nitrates, sulfates, carbonates or chlorides and subsequently thermally treating the mixture. |
