PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency in polishing actions on soybeans and raise the merchandise value. SOLUTION: This apparatus for polishing soybeans is designed to stand a circular cylindrical polishing drum 1 having the roughened inner peripheral surface, revolve the polishing drum 1 around the adjacently installed vertical rotating shaft 2 while rotating the polishing drum 1 around a shaft center, feed the soybeans from the upper part of the polishing drum 1 and take out the polished soybeans from the lower part. In this case, the rotating direction of the polishing drum 1 is preferably opposite the revolving direction thereof, and grading holes 3 so as not pass the soybeans therethrough are preferably formed on the peripheral surface on the lower side of the polishing drum 1. The plural polishing drums 1 are provided and installed in positions with left and right symmetry with the vertical rotating shaft 2 placed therebetween. Vibration is applied to a polishing container with a lid to downwardly pressurize the soybeans in the polishing container and the pressing force can be regulated.
