PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the detachment of a body cover at a body rear portion of a scooter type vehicle while making it difficult for pranksters to take off. SOLUTION: A flange portion 95 is provided in an opening edge of a housing box to which a seat is attached so as to be able to be opened and closed. The upper end surface thereof is made flat with a hole 96 formed in an appropriate location. A flat portion 93, which is formed substantially horizontal with an upper edge portion of a left rear cover 18 that is curved to the inside, is placed on the flange portion 95 such that a protruding portion 94 engages vertically with the hole 96 in a downward direction so as to be integrated therewith. Then, the seat is closed and the flat portion 93 is covered by a peripheral edge portion 100 of a seat under cover 16 which constitutes a part of the seat such that when the seat is locked, the left rear cover 18 is not able to be taken off. Also, when the seat is opened it is possible to easily take the left rear cover 18 off just by sliding it upward.
