PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage the resource of an IC card. SOLUTION: An area definition area equivalent to a directory stores a code range being the range of an identification code (equivalent to a file name or a directory name) which can be used, and has a hierarchy structure where a self-hierarchy is set to be a master hierarchy and the other area definition area to be a slave hierarchy based on the code range. The area definition area also stores the capacity (idle capacity) of the storage area which can be used. Capacity and the identification code, which can be used in the hierarchy of a certain area definition area, are restricted by the idle capacity and the code range. |
