METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SHAPE OF METALLIC BAND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape control method for a metallic band by which combined elongation is corrected with sufficient high accuracy in the capacity of an ordinary DDC. SOLUTION: In the shape control method of the metallic band in which the combined elongation of the metallic band 10 which is rolling with a multi roll mill having the divided back-up rolls 13-15 whose screw-down locations are changed with actuators is corrected by manipulating actuators in accordance with steepness deviation at each point in the width direction which is detected with a shape detector 2 provided on the outlet side of this rolling mill, the manipulated variable of the actuators are calculated so that the steepness deviations in the center part, quarter parts and end parts in the width direction are taken as within allowable ranges.
