INTRANASAL PHARMACEUTICAL PREPARATION FOR TREATING SEXUAL DISORDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pharmaceutical preparation useful for treating sexual disorder and insufficiency by making the pharmaceutical preparation include sildenafil mesylate, a specific diluent or a specified carrier. SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical preparation is obtained by including (A) sildenafil 5-[2-ethoxy-5-(4-methylpiperazin-1-ylsulfonyl)phenyl]-1,6-dihydro-1- methyl-3-propylpyrazolo[4,3-d]pyrimidin-7-one} mesylate, (B) a diluen or a carrier (a 5% wt./vol. aqueous solution of glycerol, a physiological saline solution, etc.). Furthermore, the solubility of the ingredient A in water can preferably be raised by including (C) a solubility enhancer (caffeine, nicotinamide, etc.). For example, 100 mg/ml of the ingredient A and 15 mg/ml of caffeine are formulated in an aqueous solution buffered at pH 4.2. The absorption of the pharmaceutical preparation is more rapid to initiate quicker actions than those of oral administration and the pharmaceutical preparation is effective in a dose lower than that of the oral administration by intranasal administration thereof.
