SOLUTION: A computing element 27 calculates a speed command value 30 for an X traveling carriage based on the information of the bead width W obtd. with a bead width detecting part 25 and the information of the bead laminated heightΔH stored in a memory 26. A computing element 28 calculates a welding speed correcting value based on the information of the arc voltage value varied with the interval between an electrode and a base material outputted from a welding electric source 15. A memory 29 stores the calculating corrected value. This welding speed corrected value is outputted to an adder 31 to execute the correction of the traveling speed command value 30. The output of the adder 31 is inputted to a limit circuit 32 and a limit treatment is executed therein, and the welding speed is decided to control the traveling speed of the X traveling carriage.
