The auxiliary pedal (10), actuated by the instructor, is linked to overide the main pedal which is actuated by the trainee driver. The pedal comprises an arm (14) pivoting about axis A, with free end (16) carrying an upper and lower pedal (18,22), integrally formed typically from bendable sheet metal. The upper pedal has a lower surface with side extending arms (34 in fig2) and folded central link (30) to the lower pedal. Side strips (24,36) on both pedals allow anti-slip surfaces (40) to be added. The upper pedal is engaged by the sole of the driver's shoe to depress the arm (14). The lower pedal is engaged by the shoe's upper surface to lift the arm (14).
