PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the absorption, fixing properties, water resistance and oozing properties and enable an image to be formed at a high resolution, in a recording medium for a printer with a dye fixing layer composed mainly of an intercalation compound which receives and retains a water-soluble dye by an intercalation reaction and an integrating agent. SOLUTION: This recording medium for a printer comprises a dye fixing layer 3 composed mainly of an intercalation compound which fixes and retains a water-soluble dye by an intercalation reaction based on an ion exchange action and a binder, formed as an outermost layer on a base 2. The binding agent of the dye fixing layer 3 contains an urethane modified polyvinyl alcohol resin and the urethane modification rate of the urethane modified polyvinyl alcohol resin is set to be 1-20 mol.%. |
