PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microlens array substrate which may be brightened in a screen and in addition, may be improved in contrast and a process for producing the same as well as a display device. SOLUTION: This process includes a stage for forming a substrate 32 having plural lenses 34 formed by curved surface parts 12 and plural recessed parts 36 formed by projecting parts 22 by tightly adhering a substrate precursor between a first master disk 10 having the plural curved surface parts 12 and a second master disk 20 having the plural projecting parts 22, a stage for peeling the first and second master disks 10, 20 from the substrate 32 and a stage for packing a light shieldable material 42 into the recessed parts 36 after at least the second master disk 20 is peeled.
