PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply color a sintered compact with a low content of residual carbon without inhibiting dielectric characteristics or sinterability by carrying out the removal of a binder and sintering of a green sheet containing a glass ceramic powder containing a metal oxide and the organic binder in an inert atmosphere. SOLUTION: A lead borosilicate glass component containing a metal oxide such as Cu, Bi, Mn, Co, Cr, Sb, Nb, V, Mo or Pb added thereto in an amount of 40-60 wt.% and a ceramic component containing Al, Si, Mg, etc., such as alumina, forsterite or cristobalite in an amount of 60-40 wt.% are formed into a green sheet with an organic binder such as a methacrylic acid-based acrylic resin and the removal of the binder and sintering of the resultant green sheet are then carried out in an inert atmosphere. Thereby, a glass ceramic sintered compact is obtained and the metal oxide is reduced from a high oxidation number to a low oxidation number to color the sintered compact with the grains of the metal oxide and the metal having an oxidation number of + II or below. Carbon decomposed and produced from the organic binder is oxidized and removed with oxygen produced by the reduction.
