REPRODUCING DEVICE USED IN COMMON FOR MD AND CD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a reproducing device used in common for a miniature and low cost MD and a CD. SOLUTION: A part of the area of a shockproof memory of the MD system is assigned as an error correction memory (ECC memory 11-1) area, and this ECC memory area is formed to the common area to user for the error correction at the time of reproducing the MD and CD, to have the function to changeover the address at the time when data are read out from the ECC memory 11-1 after the error correcting process in accordance with the MD reproducing time and the CD reproducing time.
