PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the consistency of a magnetic head with a track by simplifying the assemblage of a bearing and an actuator arm, and reducing the damage on the surface and edge part of a bearing housing. SOLUTION: The disk drive is furnished with the pivot bearing and the actuator arm. The actuator arm is furnished with the stepped pivot bearing housing 38. The pivot bearing housing 38 is provided with a 1st nominal inside diameter d2 making the pivot bearing match in this housing and a relatively small 2nd nominal inside diameter d4. The pivot bearing is furnished with a body 48 and the head 50. The head is forced-fitted into the 1st nominal inside diameter and the body is force-fitted into the 2nd nominal inside diameter respectively, thereby a bearing assembly 22 is mounted inside the bearing housing. The diameter of the body of the bearing assembly is smaller than the 1st nominal inside diameter of the bearing housing, then the bearing assembly is preliminarily matched with the bearing housing. Thus, the dynamic performance of the disk drive is improved.
