PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a high hit rate and to secure high cache efficiency. SOLUTION: In this directory server 1 provided with a data base DB 9 for storing directory information a division LRU management part 5 for each access uses an LRU list 7 for each access, divides cache storage by the respective kinds of access requests and performs LRU management. An attribute management part 8 prepares a required attribute list for each access request and stores only a required attribute in a cache. Thus, even when the large amount of entries are extracted from the DB by the retrieval request of a certain kind, the entries of the other kinds are not eliminated from the cache and the high hit rate is secured. The cache is prevented from being consumed by the attributes of a low access frequency and the high cache efficiency is secured.
