A stapling machine has a base carrying an anvil and a staple magazine (8) pivotally connected to the base. The magazine (8) defines an ejection slot (14) for staples adjacent the anvil, and contains a spring-based feeder (40). The feeder (40) is biased towards the ejection slot in the magazine by means of a constant tension spring (50). The constant tension spring (50) has a coiled part (51) which is retained within the chamber defined within the magazine, and has an elongate part (52) connected to the feeder. |
