Sealing procedures for metal and/or anodised metal substrates

A method of sealing a surface of a metal such as magnesium or an alloy thereof, whether first anodised or not, by deactivating the outer surface using an agent not substantially destructive to any anodised surface that might be present and subsequently exposing the surface to a resin suspension under the effect of a voltage to provide a coating on the surface capable of subsequent curing in curing conditions.
