PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate a larger quantity of long chain nucleic acid such as furosemide or DNA in a short time by using hydrophobic chromatography. SOLUTION: For a compound used for synthesis (quantization) of base material constituting hydrophobic chromatography filler, there is no particular limit, when after synthesis of the base material various functional groups or various ion exchange groups can be added to it after reaction, but because influence on an object to be separated due to hydrophobic function shown by the base material itself and swelling/shrinkage of the base material itself against change of salt concentration or pH are made minimum, it is enough to be monomer showing comparative hydrophilic property. Then single functional monomer and multiple funcional monomer are gathered at proper rate, and after diluent and polymerization initiator are added to them and stirred, this solution is added to water solution of suspension stabilizer and heated, and polymerized to make the base material. In this case, the grain size of the base material is set to be 2-500μm so as to meet with the using purpose, and the pore diameter of the base material is favorable in the range of 500-4000 angstrom.
