The mirror has at least two distinct areas which can be moved separately to heat only the portion of the edges to be welded . An Independent claim is included for the corresponding method. Objects are positioned with edges facing. Two parts of the hot mirror are moved separately between the edges, their temperatures being sufficient for contact-melting of the plastic. Pressing edges to the mirror for a sufficient interval, initiates melting, starting from the surfaces in contact. The objects are retracted, the mirror is extracted, and the objects are pressed together for a sufficient time for welding and setting, before extracting the product. |
