The invention relates to a holder for hand-held implements, especially writing implements. The holder comprises a casing with an opening. Fitted in the casing is a plug, which constitutes a base and which can be displaced upwards and downwards in the casing. The base is also provided with means of ensuring that a tip of a writing implement, for example, does not bear against the base, in order to prevent the tip from possibly breaking. The means comprise spikes, which extend upwards from the base towards the opening, and which hold fast a tapered part of the tip of the writing implement. The writing implement can thereby be firmly held even if the holder is turned upside down. <IMAGE>
