The wheel or roller consists of an inner bearing (1) and an outer rim (2) of a synthetic material. The rim is reinforced by a section of metal or plastics tube (3) which is embedded in it by an injection overmoulding procedure. The rim's dimensions are such that it extends beyond the edges of the bearing and slightly beyond the ends of the tube section, and the bearing is anchored firmly inside the rim so there is no risk of separation.
