PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly control a developing image density on an image carrier good in following-up in an image forming device provided with a developing means equipped with a donor member where the toner layer is formed and carried. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a pattern latent image forming means 6 forming a pattern latent image Zp for detecting the image density in which at least an image part and a non-image part are included on an image carrier 1 and a single donor side density detecting means 7 detecting the residual toner image density corresponding to the image part and the non-image part on the pattern latent image Zp among the donor member 3 located on the downstream side of a developing area under the condition that the pattern latent image for detecting the image density is developed in the developing area of developing means 2. Moreover, the device is provided with an image density controlling means 8 controlling the image density on the image carrier 1 based on the density signal detected by the donor side density detecting means 7. |
