PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an equipment for recognizing an electronic component in an electronic component mounter in which recognition for correcting the positional shift of electronic component can be performed accurately. SOLUTION: In a method for recognizing an electronic component by illuminating an electronic component P held by a transfer head 7 and recognizing the image of the electronic component P by means of a camera 21, a reflector fixed to the lower surface of the transfer head 7 and totally reflecting the illuminating light, a body formed on the surface of the reflector in order to emit light by absorbing the illuminating light from a light source 23, and an illumination reflector 12 formed on the light emitting body and composed of a selective transmitting body for transmitting the illuminating light from a light source 23 and reflecting the illuminating light from a light source 24 are provided. Consequently, the quantity of light incident to the camera 21 from the illumination reflector 12 can be made uniform, and illumination method can be switched between transmitting illumination and reflecting illumination by switching the light sources 23, 24, thereby switching the kind of illuminating light. |
