PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid concentration of load on external connecting terminals in a step to stick two insulating substrates together and to prevent the disconnection. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display is equipped with a liquid crystal panel, formed by superposing the first substrate forming a display region by locating plural pixel forming electrodes in a matrix state on insulating substrate SUB1, having plural external connecting terminals GTM (or DTM) for applying driving signals to the electrodes and having the electrodes and the external connecting terminals GTM (or DTM) covered with an insulating layer PSV1, and the second substrate SUB2, on which a common electrode and/or a color filter are formed, via a liquid crystal layer, and constituted to fixed a peripheral part surrounding an area where the liquid crystal layer exists by a sealant SL into which spacers Fb are mixed and a driving circuit located at side edges of the liquid crystal panel. In this case the insulating layer PSV1 between plural external connecting terminals GTM (or DTM) at the part fixed with the sealant SL is laminated with another insulating layer PSV1' to flatten a contact plane with the sealant SL.
