PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a transaction time without necessitating the frequent replenishment of an escrow part to increase the number of the replenishment of paper money by moving a stage to a bottom position every time when the fixed number of the paper money is accumulated on the stage, ending the accumulating operation when a position sensor is turned on, in this case and accumulating the fixed number of the paper money on the stage again when the position sensor is turned off. SOLUTION: The position of a stage 4a is made to descend to stope a bottom sensor 404 at an ON position. Then, the stage 4a is made to ascend and stopped at the ON position of a position sensor 403. The replenishment of paper money is started from this position. After the set number of the paper money is accumulated at an escow part 4, the stage 4a is made to descend to the ON position of the bottom sensor 404 and the replenishment is ended. The stage 4a is made to ascend to the ON position of the position sensor 403. At that time, when the bottom sensor 404 is not turned on, the fixed number of the paper money is further replenished. Thus, the number of times of replenishment in operating can be reduced and the operating efficiency of this device can be improved.
