IMAGE FORMING DEVICE AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image with high definition image quality regardless of reducing a data quantity by generating a display image composited based on a plurality of kinds of display images such as coded image information and image information that is formed to be vector data, storing and displaying a composited image. SOLUTION: A map image decoding section 1 reads a coded bit stream 101 from a storage medium 90 and decodes a map image 105 based thereon and gives the decoded image to an image composition section 3. Fractal transform, wavelet transform or discrete cosine transform or the like is adopted for the decoding system to configure a natural image or a complicated texture in navigation and the map image 105 is formed in a format such as a BMP form. A vector data decoding section 2 decodes an image 107 consisting of a line drawing of a road, a mark.symbol or the like is decoded based on vector data 106 read from a storage medium 90. An image composition section 3 receives the map image 105 and the image 107 to generate a composited image 108 for display.
