PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head device reducing read error and write error of magnetic data in magnetic processing of a magnetic card medium, and an automatic ticket examining device. SOLUTION: A temperature compensating mechanism 102 of this magnetic head device includes as rubber material, and when the thermal expansion coefficient of the rubber material isα1, the height of the rubber material is H, the thermal expansion coefficient of the rubber material to be used for a roller body 101 isβ, the thickness of the rubber material to be used for the roller body is (d), and the thermal expansion coefficient of the rubber material of the roller body without any constraint isα2, H×α1=d×3α2, and 3α2=βare satisfied.
