PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable quick communication independent of a demand instruction by providing a signal generation part forming a signal independent of the demand instruction to a second device and constituting this device so that the signal from the signal generation part communicates with a first device by way of a communication line provided independently of a serial communication. SOLUTION: This device is constituted so that a second device is provided with a signal generation part for forming a signal independent of a demand instruction and a signal from the signal generation part communicates with a first device by way of a communication line provided independently of a serial communication. In this system, a lens part 101 has a switch RET-SW 151 for switching a video of a view finder 123 and a switch VTR-SW 152 for activating a VTR mounted and connected to an (a) CPU 102. Moreover, the RET-SW 151 and the VTR-SW 152 are constituted so that they can be directly connected to a camera part 121 by a line independent of a serial communication line and switch information can be directly communicated by way of this line.
