摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embody an optical connector which may be mass produced at a low cost by using a first metal mold and second metal mold which may be joined to and parted from each other on one central axis. SOLUTION: The first metal mold 10 has a coated fiber 12 of approximately the same diameter as the diameter of an optical fiber on the central axis O and a coated fiber supporting rod 13 of the diameter larger than the diameter of the coated fiber 12 supporting the base end of the coated fiber 12. The second metal mold 11 is coaxial with the central axis O and has a cavity 14 of the diameter larger than the coated fiber supporting rod 13 and a spindle 15 which is freely movable forward and backward along the central axis O within this cavity 14 and has a wire-shaped fine hole 17 for accepting the coated fiber 12 from the end face. A resin is packed into a cylindrical space between the coated fiber supporting rod 13 and the cavity 14 and while the spindle 15 is retreated, the resin is packed between the coated fiber 12 supported by the spindle 15 and the cavity 14.
