PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus by which a road on which an own vehicle is situated and its position can be detected precisely so as to be displayed even when the own vehicle is situated on any road which is very close and parallel. SOLUTION: In a navigation apparatus, a receiver 8 which receives radio waves from a plurality of global positioning system(GPS) satellites is provided, a GPS positioning part 7 which positions a position on the basis of the radio waves received by the receiver 8 is provided, a position computing means 5 which computes and decides a position on the basis of the position positioned by the GPS positioning part 7 is provided, a storage means 2 by which road information and status information on the radio waves from the GPS satellites in every prescribed section of a road contained in the road information are stored is provided, and a judgment means 5 by which, when the position computing means 5 cannot decide the existence of the position in any of a plurality of mutually adjacent roads, the status of the radio waves, from the GPS satellites, received by the receiver 8 is judged to be close to any of every status information on the radio waves from the GPS satellites in every prescribed section stored by the storage means 2 is provided. |
