PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection device for eliminating the need for routing a communication line and for uniformly and contrarily monitoring signal line carrier type and power line carrier type load devices, even if they are mixed. SOLUTION: A connection device 22 is a power line carrier type load device for superposing a monitoring signal in an operational state to a power line for transmission and a connection device that connects the monitoring signal to any of a signal line carrier type load device for transmitting the monitoring signal by a signal line, supplies power, and at the same time transmits a monitoring signal for central monitoring by a power supply side power line 20. In this case, the connection device 22 is provided with a power line connector 11 for making connection to the load side power line of either load device, a signal line connector 12 for making connection to the signal line of the signal line carrier type load device, a discrimination means 17 for discriminating whether the connected loading device is a signal line carrier type or not, based on a specific signal from the signal line connector 12, and superposition transmission circuits 10 and 10a for superposing a monitoring signal which is inputted to the signal line connector 12 on the power supply side power line 20 for transmitting.
